The Ecuadorian Chinese Chamber of Commerce celebrated the ‘China Expo 2023’, under the motto ‘It’s your time to do big business’. The event seeks to create connections, as well as investment and export opportunities.
Nearly 3,000 commercial connections were made this week between China and Ecuador during the 12th edition of ‘Expo China’, according to the organization.
The business event took place in Quito and Guayaquil, with the support of the Ministry of Production and with the endorsement of the Chinese Embassy in Ecuador.
The organization details that more than 30,000 attendees gathered, 200 national companies and 50 foreign corporations.
At the meeting, “about 3,000 commercial connections were made between companies from China and Ecuador during the five days of the fair,” the Chamber explained.
He noted that ‘Expo China 2023’ was not only the commercial showcase for Chinese and Ecuadorian companies, but also a catalyst for strengthening commercial relations between the two nations.
In addition to the trade exhibitions, training and keynote talks were given with a focus on the ‘Import Cycle’ to learn how to do business with China.
“Ecuador has positioned itself as an integral strategic partner of China, thanks to the close relationship of cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and social spheres that both nations have maintained over the years,” said Gustavo Cáceres, president of the Board of Directors. of the Ecuadorian Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Through ‘Expo China 2023’, the strengthening of these commercial ties is promoted, opening opportunities for new spaces for collaboration, he highlighted.
In this 12th edition, the relevance of ‘Expo China 2023’ intensified in the context of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Ecuador and China.
This agreement, signed in May 2023 and declared constitutional a month ago, covers more than 90% of Ecuador’s exportable supply.
Now it is in the hands of the National Assembly to review the content of the trade agreement and approve it to make way for the strengthening of trade relations between Ecuador and China, the Chamber recalled.
