The State Attorney General’s Office and the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT) signed an agreement for the implementation of the “Juntas CNT” App, through which victims of gender violence will obtain preventive assistance.
María Antonieta Palacios, Head of Corporate Responsibility at CNT, said that the technological tool aims to encourage the reduction of violence against women; as well as to encourage the victims to report their cases.
The system has an information window of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, denounces and information on the subject. It also features an alarm that the user can press in case of being attacked. She also stated that it has a shortcut button to communicate with the ECU-911 Articulated System in cases of emergency. Palacios added that the application is free and downloading it does not take more than one a minute.
