An unrecognizable Emelec falls in Chilean territory
They went with everything to Iquique (Chile), but the price of attacking from start to end has consequences, Emelec that lost 2-0 against Deportivo Iquique, within the Libertadores Cup.
Emelec, in search of the victory left many spaces that were very well used by the Chilean team, those players, not doing much, despaired and made the Ecuadorian team lost its control.
Iquique’s counterattack was deadly for Emelec, cause without effort they scored twice.
At the first 14 minutes a pass from the midfield, that seemed easy to reject, escaped from Bagui leaving Ormeño habilitated to get into the penalty area and pass the the ball to Ereros Sebastian that took the opportunity and scored.
Emelec continued to attack, but at minute 21, a clearing maneuver by Ormeño was used by Manuel Villalobos who armed the counterattack resulting in a crossed kick and a second goal for the Chileans.
Emelec coach Gustavo Quinteros, made some changes on the field entering Fernando Gaibor and Pablo Zeballos which improved the performance of the team. but the goal never came.
It was not a lucky night for Emelec, a few minutes from the end, in the minute 78th, the defender Gabriel Achilier was expelled for assaulting a player of Iquique.
