Another Member Leaves The Political Movement PAIS
Legislator Cesar García, who represents the province of Esmeraldas in the National Assembly, is the second member to separate from the political block PAIS in less than 24 hours. He said the referendum promoted by the Government is one of the reasons that led him to this decision.
“We are working independently and I will keep on working,” said Garcia, who dismissed the referendum proposal of the Executive saying it is “unconstitutional” and an “underestimating for the Assembly”.
“We (the assembly members) feel pain because our work is being underestimated and the support it got from the Ecuadorian people is not being considered. The President’s proposal returns to the vices that the administration of justice used to have and, above all, there is a politicization,” he said.
García announced this morning his decision. Speaking to Radio Sonorama, the legislator referred about the Government’s proposal for a referendum about county La Concordia, in order to determine the province that is going to take this county, as another reason for his departure. Garcia explained that because of historical and law reasons the county belongs to Esmeraldas.
