ARCA inspects oxidation ponds

Technicians of the Agency for Regulation and Control of Water (ARCA) inspected yesterday the wastewater treatment plant of Interagua, located on the Narcisa de Jesus highway, within the preprocedimental investigation stage followed by this state agency because of the alleged affectation of the Daule River .

Around 11:00 officials arrived from Quito, who expressed -before entering the premises of Interagua- they could not give statements. Access to the press was not allowed.

This process is followed against the concessionaire after environmental lawyer Ines Manzano denounced before the ARCA, Senagua, the Prefecture of Guayas and the Municipality of Guayaquil the alleged contamination of the Daule river.
