Assange Demands Diplomatic Assurances in Case of Extradition

From the Embassy of Ecuador in London, Julian Assange called diplomatic guarantees to ensure he will not be processed by the U.S. over the publications of secret documents, in case he gets extradited to Sweden.
The founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, requested the Ecuadorian Government for political asylum. President Rafael Correa met at the Carondelet Palace with his foreign minister, Ricardo Patino, and Ambassador of Ecuador in the UK, Ana Alban, who was called for consultations to analyze the legal status of the Australian hacker.
Ambassador Alban told reporters that Assange is being treated on basic needs at the Embassy in London. (MZ)
