Assemblywoman Viteri replied the accusations of Ricardo Patino

Posted On 03 Aug 2015

Cynthia Viteri, Assemblywoman of the Christian-Social Madera de Guerrero Party, used her right of reply to respond to the allegations against her by Chancellor Ricardo Patiño.

The lawmaker said that the government has sent the Assembly members Maria Jose Carrion, Maria Alejandra Vicuña and chancellor in termination of service, Ricardo Patiño, to debate with her, however, Viteri reiterated her position and critics against the ruling party.

Viteri also responded to comments of having worked with former President Leon Febres Cordero and the criticisms about the crackdown. She said she was a student when Febres Cordero was in power and it is not a dishonor having joined his campaign for mayor of Guayaquil in 1991.

She also made reference that President Correa had a public office at the time, according to his official Curriculm. “Mr. Correa worked from 1984 to 1987 as an industrial specialist in the Ministry of Industry of Ecuador,” she said.

Viteri reiterated that she is not afraid of her dismissal but condemned the fact that the country adopts the Venezuelan model, of which, she said, the president is a fan. “For my part, you can dismiss me from the Assembly, but you will not turn the country into what Venezuela has become,” she said.
