Ecuadornews:
The preliminary investigation opened by the Office of the Attorney General on the alleged crime of embezzlement in the award of the exploitation of the Singue oil block, and in which 20 persons have been identified as responsible, including Vice-President Jorge Glas, could extend for up to two years.
“The law determines that in the case of embezzlement the prior inquiry may last up to two years. Obviously, we will not take all this time, we will accelerate the investigation to make it fast, efficient,” said Attorney General Carlos Baca Mancheno yesterday. (I)
