Belgium seizes drugs from Ecuador
Yesterday afternoon the prosecutor’s office of Antwerp in Belgium, reported that, on Monday October 8th , eight tons of cocaine were confiscated from Ecuador, with a retail price of 500 million euros.
During an inspection, the police discovered about 7,000 cocaine packages, each one of a bit over a kilogram. The report noted that the drug was found in a container of bananas addressed to the Dutch market. After removing the drug, the bananas were left in order to track the shipment.
Thanks to the Belgian customs information, the Dutch police followed the alleged drug traffickers who transported the container to an industrial area on the outskirts of Rotterdam, Netherlands. On Tuesday, October 9, the truck driver, from Belgium, was arrested, also four Dutchmen who were unloading.
