Boxing from Ecuador wins three medals in Russia

Ecuadorian boxer Julio Castillo won the gold medal at the XVI World Cup of Petroleum Countries, while his teammate Jean Carlos Caicedo hung the silver at the end of the international tournament held in the Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, detailed in a bulletin the Ecuadorian Boxing Federation.
Castillo reached the crown in the division of 91 kilograms, after defeating Russian Yaroslav Doronichev in the final match by split decision (3-2).
“It was a very strong tournament, of a good technical level and that had the presence of good competitors,” said Castillo, who dedicated the title to his wife, Genesis Vallejo, and his son, Julio, as well as for the entire country and God who has allowed him to reach the place where he is.
For his part, Caicedo lost the final of 56 kilos to host Bakhtovar Nazirov by unanimous decision (0-3) and had to settle for second place and the silver medal.
The tricolor delegation was also formed by fighters Marlo Delgado, who was left with the bronze, and Miguel Ferrin, who lost in the first round. The team was led by coach Pedro Pablo Salgado, of Cuban nationality.
