Bracelets that will replace jail by alimony debts will be tested until March

The proposals announced by President Rafael Correa in these cases, including the parent who owes alimony _ only sleeps in jail in order to look for a job during the day, or the State to assume that payment and gives temporary employment, are debated by the institutions of the judicial system. Chiriboga justified yesterday the option of wearing an electronic bracelet to monitor the person without being imprisoned.
The board of justice discussed this on Monday. Minister Ledy Zuniga contended that some 6,000 people that fulfilled between a 60% and 80% of their sentence could benefit.
Now they are working in the pilot phase that will allow to test the devices provided for in Section 522 of the Criminal Integral Code. Zuniga announced that between January and March this stage will be completed and the devices will be anchored to the ECU-911 system.
