Brazil Carnival 2012: King Momo Recieved the keys of the city

Starting today until the next ‘Ash’ Wednesday, February 22; Brazil is under the regency of King Momo who received the keys of the city by the mayor Eduardo Paes. This celebration marks the beginning of the most famous carnival in the world.

Milton Junior portrays King Momo, a joyful big man with a friendly nature was received by Paes in the City Palaceafter arriving in limousine. After receiving his powers King Momo stated, “I officially declare open the carnival of Rio de Janeiro.”

According to the Tourism city hall over 850,000 tourists are expected, 250,00 of those are foreigners. Visitors have occupied the 90% capacity of the hotels in the city. This could earn the city around 620 million dollars. (AV)
