Bunay Defends his Support to Duzac’s Bussiness

Antonio Bunay defends COFIEC credit to Duzac
Yesterday the former president of COFIEC bank, Antonio Bunay pointed out that the was not pressed by Pedro Delgado, the legal representative of the Management Unit Trust Public Law AGD-CFN No more impunity (Ugedep for its Spanish acronym). However the Prosecutor Commission of the National Assembly explained that the contact between COFIEC and Gaston Duzac began after a call made by Delgado in the last weeks of October 2011.
In that time, the director of Ugedep asked him to talk with Francisco Endara Clavijo, who at the time was the coordinator of the Technical Secretariat of the Trust, so he refers Bunay to a group of Argentinean investors.
The former director of COFIEC pointed out that when Pedro Eleosegui, was invited by the Government of Ecuador to survey projects of the Centra Bank, along with Gaston Duzac, from that moment they began to relate with the financial entity.
Bunay confirmed that in his opinion the business of Duzac was quite lucrative and opportune, and for that it didn’t seemed strange to him defend his credit. “It sounded successful,” he said. He also added that it was strange that when the credit was in trouble the guarantees were changed. AV
