Catolica lost the match and the leadership
El Nacional made two goals that lowered the goal difference of los Santos and fell to second place. The big winner was Emelec, which without playing is leading thanks to a mayor goal difference (21 plus 10) than Catolica (21 plus 9).
Another “win” for Emelec without playing, was the 0-3 defeat of Deportivo Quito, which played with reserves and young players, against Manta in the Jocay Stadium, with what the team of the theatre square stagnates and diminishes its chances to come first and play against Emelec (which is already classified to the final by winning the first stage). The Quito should play with reserves because their players and coaching staff refused to play because they are unpaid.
In the third match of the 10th date played yesterday, Deportivo Cuenca won 2-0 to Macará.
The matches of Liga de Quito against Emelec; Barcelona against Independiente; and Quevedo vs Liga de Loja were deferred for their participation in the South American Cup.
