Chancellor Patiño and Journalist Rosero Apologize Separately
This morning, Chancellor Ricardo Patiño and the journalist Gonzalo Rosero apologized publicly for last Friday’s incident in Radio Democracia. During an interview with Teleamazonas Patiño said he felt sorry for his action.
The incident occurred when Patiño called liar to Rosero due to some declarations made by Assemblymen Maria Augusta Calle to Ecuavisa. The statements insinuate that the Police could have been involved in the case called ‘narcovalija.’
“I have to remain calm, perhaps the burden of last week with all those wrong accusations and reacted by stepping out of the radio set. Perhaps it wasn’t the best way of saying things. There was a misrepresentation that outraged me and I made that decision,” added Patiño.
Meanwhile, Gonzalo Rosero, journalist of Radio Democracia urged his fellow worker Felix Narvaez and Ecuavisa network to expose the complete material without edit. Rosero explained that it was the National Police and not the Foreign office that made the last checking’s of the diplomatic suitcase.
Rosero, through a new radio link to discuss issues related to free speech, apologized to his audience and the assemblymen Calle, for making a mistake last Friday during the interview with Chancellor Patiño. (AV)
