Chavez’s silence raises tensions over a transition

After the arrival of the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, there is much speculation, because the president is out of sight in a military hospital. The growing feeling that Chavez may be preparing to abandon power and eventually give way to a successor and a new presidential election.
The government insists that President Chavez remains in office, however, political analysts believe he could take office after a swearing in a late ceremony Could be the first step to a possible transition.
