Children Under 13 May Have Access to Facebook
Posted On 04 Jun 2012
Facebook, the company created by Mark Zuckerberg, has started to develop technology that would allow the access to the social network minors from 13 years under parental supervision, reported the Wall Street Journal on Monday.
Children under 13 may have access to the games and entertainment of the site, giving parents the opportunity to give their children a safer experience. Facebook is looking for different mechanisms that include connect the account of the children with their parents. They would decide the application and friends that the children could have.
“It’s a constant dialogue with stakeholders, regulators and other policy makers about the best way to help parents keep their children safe in a online environment,” said Zuckerberg to the newspaper.
This movement is seen as one more way to drive incremental revenue, but there is still no date on which that service will start operating. (PLS)
