Chile: Four bodies Found in Plane Crash
A team of journalists from the Chilean state broadcaster TVN, composed by five people led by Felipe Camiroaga, TV anchor and Viña del Mar Festival host in 2009-2010, was travelling on the plane. Businessman Felipe Cubillos and TVN team planned to do a report on reconstruction in the island, which was hit by tidal waves following the earthquake in late February last year.
The plane crashed after two failed attempts at landing in the Robinson Crusoe island, located about 700 km away from the continent. “It is a violent accident and a violent accident that would not leave people alive, but we won’t lose hope until the last minute. We will keep looking for them…alive or dead,” said General Maximiliano Larraechea, General Secretary of the Air Force in Santiago.
