Chilean exporters stopped deliveries to Ecuador
The load that regularly exported to Ecuador’s the association of exporters, Asexma Chile, has been slow due to new regulations established by Ecuadorian Standards Institute (INEN). For this, it requested that the Chilean government to convene the Bipartisan Commission Technical Barriers for Trade handling the matter.
According to Marcelo Abrigo, representative of Asexma Chile, this action affects 500 partners exporters of food products, cosmetics and refrigerators for supermarkets. Similarly the impediment has generated to several Chilean companies, lost between $ 70 and $ 80 million in December.
The problem is that the Chilean National Institute of Standards does not have a international accreditations requested the INEN to certify exportable products and that documents would take about a year to be obtained, according to Abrigo.
