Christian Benitez, scorer in Mexico

Christian Benitez scored the only goal of the game with which the America won against the Pumas 1-0 and qualified for the playoffs for the Clausura Mexican title. The Ecuadorian player, with that goal, becomes the Aztec top scorer with 9 goals.

Benitez scored in the 22nd minute from a head shot of Argentine Rubens Sambuez and that was enough for the Aguilas, which extended its unbeaten streak to seven consecutive matches, which places them in third place with 29 points. Two matches remain in the regular schedule.

While Narciso Mina, Ecuadorian striker, also watched the commitment from the America’s bench.

Pumas had won their last two games and now remained stuck at 23 points which located  them in sixth place in the scoreboard.
