Clear Highways for the Holiday Travellers
The national 5-day Holiday is near and “red vial del Ecuador” reveals that the highways of Costa and Sierra are in good conditions. Panavial Company is currently performing the road maintenance work.
Portoviejo-Guayaquil road is in good condition and cars can move normally.
The Guayaquil-Salinas road is clear but there are potholes on the path between Guayaquil and Chongon. The Guayaquil-Machala highway doesn’t have problems, except km 13, from Naranjal to the south.
The road linking with Guayas and Manabi-Pichincha is in perfect state. The way Rocafuerte-Chone-Flavio Alfaro-El Carmen is paved but there are 12 spots that require carefulness while driving. However, in the Tosagua-Rocafuerte path, work with concrete is underway.
Highways were improved in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, the way Santo Domingo – Quinindé (Esmeraldas)-170 km paving is rapidly progressing.
Meanwhile, the highway linking Santo Domingo with El Carmen (Manabi)—30 km— is clear, but there are employees working on the reconstruction and widening—to four lanes—. The Carmen-Pedernales way (100 km) has just been paved.
Drivers should be careful in the way Alóag-Santo Domingo because the extension from two to four lanes is underway, the road (100 km) is in good condition.
Ambato-Baños road (39 km) is restored. The pathway from Ambato to Riobamba (52 km) is secure.
