Minister of the CNE, Roxana Silva, informed about Argudo’s removal from the institution.
QUITO, Ecuador
The General Secretary of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), Daniel Argudo, was removed from office for failing to “warn” the electoral members on the binomial registration of the Partido Renovador Institucional Accion Nacional (PRIAN) formed by Alvaro Noboa and his wife, Annabella Azin.
This was announced today by the minister of the CNE, Roxana Silva, after journalists from various media review the flannel of the institution in which they realized the binomial log.
The CNE provides that in order to register a candidate, certain requirements must be met. These are the submission of forms, the work plan and the performance of internal selection processes with the participation of a CNE representative.
The General Secretariat of the Council has appointed Alex Guerra, as Argudo’s replacement in office. (MZ)
