Comptroller´s office performs examination at CNE signature verification process
While the National Electoral Council (CNE) considers the verification and validation process of signatures that political organizations submitted for registration or reinscription as a relevant event of its management, for the General Comptroller of the State it was a cause of an special examination which establishes civil and administrative liability against electoral officials and the company Controles SA.
Because the special examination of the Comptroller (96 pages) details the $ 7’180.546,73 this process cost. Only $ 6’284.948,21 were audited, and $ 895,598.52 are excluded from the analysis for being outside the scope of the control action. These values correspond to payments of military and police services.
In addition, the Comptroller’s report requested an explanation to the electoral management body about the hiring of a new computer system, since there was not an impediment to use the Integrated System of Political Organizations (SIOP), developed by technicians of the entity, whose functioning is in good condition.
