Correa will not answer to the Rapporteur over freedom of expression
So it was announced by President Rafael Correa in an interview in Montecristi, Manabi, regarding the letter sent by the Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression, Catalina Botero, in which she shows her concern about the recent approval of the Communications Law.

Among other points, the rapporteur argues that “the law establishes oppressive restrictions that makes them virtually ineffective”, to what Correa replied, “When you tell me what you did with the complaint of (Mario) Vargas Llosa against El Comercio newspaper of Lima in which indeed exists prior censorship, that it lies, that corrupt politics are carried out, that reporters are being dismissed because they do not surrender to the whims of the media, after you tell me what you did with that serious complaint, you could be getting our response.”
Finally the president reiterated his criticism of the Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and said that “it has become an echo of the big business dedicated to communication” and “has lost all credibility.”
