Posted On 27 Dec 2011
In an interview with “Agencia Andes,” the Coordinating Minister of Politics, Betty Tola said “with all certainty,” that the Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa will go for the re-election in the upcoming presidential elections.
In declarations made two weeks ago, the president stated, “Our main responsibility is to give the continuity to the political project. The citizens revolution must not be stopped and if we loose the elections such revolution will be over,” Correa added, “If somebody else can do it would be good, if not I’ll have to do it,” referring to the re-election. However Correa also added that it is still undecided.
The next elections will be performed in September. (AV)
