According to a Cedatos bulletin, 60.3% of Ecuadorians consider that the Popular Consultation promoted by Noboa will help combat insecurity and organized crime.
The management of President Daniel Noboa has reached an approval of 81.4% and 75.6% believe in the President’s word, according to the report ‘Ecuador: studies and opinion data’, by Cedatos, published on February 29, 2024.
According to the Cedatos interpretive bulletin, this acceptance is the highest recorded by a President of the Republic since 1979.
Likewise, 51.5% of those surveyed consider that the country’s situation is better, while 27.5% consider that it remains the same and 18.2% of those surveyed believe that it is worse.
The National Assembly was also highly rated in this survey, although opinions are divided. The Legislative obtained an approval of 41.9%, but with a disapproval of 41.5% and a credibility of only 22.5%.
In any case, these are positive figures, since in May 2023 the approval of the Assembly was 8.3% and credibility was only 4.1%.
This coincides with the mood of citizens, which has had a progressive improvement since November 2023. According to Cedatos, as of February 29, 2024, 52.3% feel optimistic, hopeful or enthusiastic, compared to 48. 4% in January 2024, 44.5 in December 2023 and 40.7% who felt this way on November 18, 2023.
Among the problems that most concern Ecuadorians is insecurity. This issue is the one that most worries 43% of those surveyed; unemployment and underemployment at 20.2%; the economic situation at 13.6% and corruption at 6.7%.
The survey brings more good news for Noboa, as it ensures that 60.3% consider that the Popular Consultation proposed by the Government will help combat insecurity and organized crime. Only 32.1% are skeptical about the results.
When faced with the question: “If it were now the day of the Popular Consultation, would you vote ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to the questions of this Popular Consultation?” 53% said ‘Yes’, 34.7% leaned towards ‘No’ and 11.8% did not specify an answer.

The study was carried out through direct interviews with 2,412 people in urban and rural areas of 34 cities on the Coast, Sierra and Amazonia, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of +/- 3.1%. The study was carried out between February 19 and 22, 2024.
