One day after the elections, President Daniel Noboa finally spoke on the afternoon of April 22 on the results of the popular consultation and constitutional referendum.
According to the official results of the CNE, so far the Yes wins in nine questions and the No in two: those on hourly employment and international arbitration.
In a social media message, Noboa thanked Ecuadorian voters “for their broad support for a security policy and fight against corruption.”
And he highlighted, for example, the capture of the leader of Los Lobos, Fabricio Colón Pico, this Monday in Puerto Quito.
“Ecuador has spoken, our next step will be to continue working even harder than yesterday,” added the President, while posing for the cameras in what looks like a photographic studio.
In his hand, Noboa carries the cardboard poster that he used in the 2023 election campaign, and that went viral on social networks.
Before President Daniel Noboa spoke out, other voices in the Government already referred to the results of this electoral process.
The Ministers of Labor and the Interior, Ivonne Núñez and Mónica Palencia, respectively, consider that the Government achieved a “victory”, due to the results obtained in the questions that refer to security.
