Daniel Noboa on Tourism Law: “we comply with our legislative agenda for this period”
The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, reacted to the approval of the bill for the Strengthening of Tourist Activities. Before coming into force, the Executive has two options: veto it (partially or totally) or send it directly to the Official Registry.

President Daniel Noboa spoke about the approval of the Tourism Law.
The fifth urgent economic law of the Government was approved with 83 votes of the Plenary last night, Thursday, March 21, 2024. This occurred just three days before the deadline for the Legislature to issue a statement.
Yesterday, Noboa said: I am very happy because today we have fulfilled our legislative agenda for this period. Today we voted in favor of the fifth urgent economic law,” he mentioned in a video published on social networks.
According to the President, this regulation will provide employment to many young people; as well as reactivate the economy of areas that need this activation so much.
In his message, Noboa does not anticipate whether or not he will veto the bill that the Assembly will submit. But he doesn’t anticipate any objection to it either. It must be remembered that the law included several topics that, for groups like Correismo, did not necessarily have to do with the tourism sector.
With the Tourism Law, the Executive has managed to pass five laws in four months under the urgent-economic modality. First he achieved the approval of the Tax Reform. Then the Energy Competitiveness, Internal Armed Conflict (VAT increase) and the changes for the forfeiture of ownership passed.
Closing his speech, Noboa sent a message to the opposition: “I also want to thank the old politicians for being so obvious. Now we are going to party.”
