David Murdock Supports the Project City of Knowledge of Correa
The owner of the multinational Dole and financer of the North Carolina Research Institute, David Murdock, stated his interest in supporting the Project Yachay, City of Knowledge, which is being pushed by the Government of Ecuador.
Murdock met last Tuesday with the Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa, after carrying out an observation visiting the research centre located in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The purpose of Correa’s visit is to evaluate the infrastructure of the organization, coordination, equipment of the latest technology and scientific projects.
A delegation of the National Secretariat of Superior Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyst) in Kannapolis, organized an exposition for Murdock about the project of the City of Knowledge or ‘Yachay’, carried out by the Government of president Rafael Correa, in the province of Imbabura, his purpose is to execute scientific projects and create professionals with PhD or Masters.
Murdock qualified the project as surprising that promises to gather educational aspects and economic ones, “something similar to what the Murdock Research Centre is building in North Carolina,” said the owner of Dole. Finally he added that he’s going to be very happy to cooperate from the construction to the transfer of technology with the Murdock Investigation Centre. AV
