Deadly Explosion in Somali capital
A car bomb exploded near the Somali foreign ministry building in the capital of Mogadishu. The blast took the lives of four people and left 15 more wounded. Meanwhile Kenya’s defence minister, Yusuf Haji, and foreign minister, Moses Wetangula were in a meeting in the foreign ministry.
The explosion did not damage the ministry building, but did tear down a stone wall. The blast left several body parts scattered in the streets. After the event several ambulances evacuated the wounded and government forces fired in the air to disperse the crowds.
This incident occurred two days after Kenya declared war on al-Shabab terrorists, who are being blamed of recent abductions and sent troops through the borders in pursuit of the group inside Somali lands. The recent attacks have made Kenyan police to increase the security at some downtown sites. (AV)
