Djokovic seeks to shine in Miami before the absences of Federer and Nadal

Posted On 20 Mar 2013

The serbian tennis player and number one in the world, Novak Djokovic, faces the Masters 1000 of Miami, the second of the season as the main favorite for the title, after winning it for the last two years and he is willing to do so this year before the absences of the Spanish Rafael Nadal, Champion at Indian Wells, and the swiss Roger Federer.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic comes to Miami after losing his first Masters 1000 of the season, in the semi-final of Indian Wells by the hand of the Argentine Juan Martín del Potro. However, the Serbian has enough credit to still be  considered as the favorite for the title.

In addition, Djokovic will have two fewer threats to worry about. The Spanish Rafael Nadal will not play in the second  Masters of the year, after breaking all odds and prevail in Indian Wells, where he showed that he is at a good level, but still has to continue taking care of his knees.

Neither it will be Swiss Roger Federer, with problems in his back, who has prefered to stop and prepare for the  Montecarlo Masters 1000.
