Local flights will be suspended at the Manta Airport
Maintenance work at The Eloy Alfaro airport in Manta, will start on the evening of September 22 until October 9.
Carlos Jacome, Undersecretary of Civil Aviation, announced that the first areas to be fixed will be the ones surrounding the runway, that’s why commercial flights from Aerogal and Tame, on the route Quito-Manta from Monday to Sunday, shall be carried out from Guayaquil’s airport, Jose Joaquin Olmedo. From this air terminal, passengers should travel by land to Manta.
The runways from Reales Tamarindos airport (Portoviejo) and Los Perales airport (San Vicente), will not be available, as both are in a closure process.
The amount allocated by the Government for the rehabilitation of the airport, including the improvement of waiting rooms and facade, reaches the sum of $ 5 million, Jacome reported.
