Early Campaign will be discounted from electoral spending

Domingo Paredes criticizing Guillermo Lasso’s “early campaign”
The President of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), Domingo Paredes, announced the approval of a rule proposed last July, which establishes penalties in the electoral spending over early campaigns made by political groups.
The regulation sets out the procedures for the control and punishment of offenses concerning propaganda and campaign spending of political organizations to participate in Ecuadorian elections of 2013.
Article 9 of this law states that “propaganda and promotion done prior to the elections (October 18) will be considered part of the electoral campaign spending in case the person who promotes it, is registered and qualified as a candidate.” (MZ)
