Ecuadornews:
State oil company Petroecuador reported that it has awarded Gunvor S.A. the import of 3.12 million barrels of high-octane naphtha “Ron 93”, used to make gasolines.
The European company, which won the process by offering the best import price per barrel, was invited by Petroecuador to participate in the international competition along with 38 other companies.
According to the bidding rules, the volume of imported naphtha will arrive in the country in thirteen shipments of 240,000 barrels each, with a first delivery between May 27 and 29 next.
The high-octane naphtha “Ron 93” is used for mixing in the production of “extra” or regular gasoline, so with this import supply is guaranteed in the domestic market until, approximately, next October, the statement of Petroecuador. (I)
