Ecuador expresses condolences for fire in California

Through a statement, Ecuador expressed its solidarity with the government and the people of the United States after the devastating fires in the state of California.
The document was released on Thursday afternoon, November 15,through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The government of the Republicof Ecuador expresses its solidarity to the government of the United States, inthe face of the devastating fires in the State of California, which caused theloss of more than 50 human lives, dozens of injured and evacuated,” saysthe letter.

The fire has been going on for a week and was considered one ofthe deadliest fires in the town in the last 30 years. The authorities ofCalifornia confirmed that – at the moment – there are 59 people who died, ofwhich 48 victims lost their lives around the “Camp Fire” that devastatedthe city of Paradise, of 26 thousand inhabitants, at the foot of the mountainsof the Sierra Nevada and north of the state capital Sacramento, and itssurroundings.
