The International Court of Justice held this Wednesday the second public hearing on the invasion of the Ecuadorian Police into the Mexican Embassy and the attack on diplomatic personnel on the night of Friday, April 5.
During the first session, which took place on Tuesday, April 30, Mexico accused Ecuador of “crossing lines that should not be crossed in international law.”

Mexico requests that the International Court of Justice issue precautionary measures against Ecuador, such as “taking appropriate and immediate measures to provide full protection and security of diplomatic facilities, their property and archives, preventing any form of intrusion against them.”
The Ecuadorian representative assured in his speech that the hearing before the international court is “unnecessary and completely unjustified” , since he has already given “guarantees” to Mexico that it was an “exceptional” act, so it is not possible to decree the precautionary measures requested.
