Ecuador marches against the government again this September 16
Wednesday indigenous and social groups will march again against government policies.
The mobilization in Quito will concentrate in the Social Security office, in front of El Ejido park. Pablo Serrano, current president of the Unitary Workers Front (FUT), said that during the march they will stop in various sections to explain their requests.
The Coanie will organize sit-ins in front of different institutions and at 16:30 they will join the march.
In Guayaquil, businessman Alvaro Noboa convened a march that will start at 17:00 and will depart start from Malecon Avenue 512 between the Imbabura and Tomas Martinez streets and will end in the Guayas Governor´s office.
In Quito, the protest will start at 16h00 in front of the building of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS).
For Noboa, the aim of the protest is “to ask for a return to true democracy and the resignation of Rafael Correa.”He has also said he stands in solidarity with all groups opposed to the government as the FUT and the indigenous movements.
On the government side, there will be a concentration at the Independence Square to support President Rafael Correa. Furthermore, institutional buildings such as the National Finance Corporation and the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) placed giant posters with photos alluding to violence of those who participated in previous marches.
