Ecuador sends for the first time turkey to Bolivia and red pitahaya to USA.

Ecuador,under the Pronaca brand, began its first export of 18,000 kilos of turkey toBolivia, which is scheduled to arrive on November 29 at its final destination.

The information was released by Pro Ecuador. The negotiation between the Ecuadorian company and the Bolivian importer Coinser was carried out through the management of the commercial office of Pro Ecuador in Santa Cruz (Bolivia).

Ricardo Descalzi, manager of Agroexports of Pronaca, confirmed that the product will be commercialized, mainly, in the Hipermaxi chain, through its 36 stores. “The realization of this type of business contributes to our Ecuadorian pride, since it allows us to bring to the world products that are well made with local labor and at the same time, opens the door as a reference for new products made in our country,” he said.

This is the first shipment made by Pronaca, said Pro Ecuador. The state agency also said that the company Laia Margarita, based in Manabí, made its first export of red pitahaya to the United States.  Ramón Martínez, representative of the exporter, said that the fruit is being sent to Italy and France.

It hasalso been exported to Belgium and England. “In this first shipment weexport 5 000 kilos for an estimated value of between 50,000 and 70,000 dollars.My client has been very satisfied and would like to import again for the priceand quality of this exotic fruit. Now Ecuador is an important opponent, wealready have in mind and for us it is quite beneficial, “said Martinez. (I)
