Ecuador will Carry 36 Athletes to the London 2012 Olympic Games

Ecuador tracks a new record for the number of representatives in the Olympic Games with 36 athletes, led by canoeist, Cesar de Cesare.
The tricolor delegation includes 13 athletes, seven boxers, four weightlifters, three swimmers, two cyclists, two fighters, a rider, a judo fighter, a shooter and a triathlete.
According to spokesman of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE for its spanish acronym), Tony Montoya, there are two other athletes that may join the delegation. The walker Rolando Saquipay and sprinter Franklin Nazareno, are the ones having a chance to qualify.
“It’s the wider ecuadorian team ever to go to the Olympics in its history and breaks the record of 25 athletes who participated in Beijing 2008”, said Montoya. (MZ)
