Through his Twitter account, the president indicated that within the framework of respect for human rights and the inter-American system, they will comply with the measures.
The Court determined in its judgment that Ecuador violated Paola Guzmán’s right to life, for which reason compensation for material damages generated by her death corresponds. The State must pay a total of $ 70,000 to the minor’s family. And among other actions, it must declare an official day of “fight against sexual violence in classrooms.”
State for the violation of the right to life, to personal integrity, to the protection of honor and dignity, of education, in relation to guaranteeing protection measures for minors.
Psychological treatment should also be given to Paola’s relatives, such as her mother Petita Albarracín and her sister; the official summary of the sentence must be published; carry out a public act of recognition of international responsibility, and grant – if the mother accepts it – posthumously the bachelor’s degree.
