Ecuador will receive the visit of European Commissioner
The European Commissioner for Development, Andris Piebalgs, will visit next week Ecuador, where he will deal with authorities and private actors on bilateral cooperation, support to sustainable development, change of the productive matrix and support the commercial sector, among others, reported yesterday the delegation of EU in the country.
Piebalgs will lunch with representatives of the private sector, which “has had a proactive and constructive role in the various negotiations to close a trade agreement with the EU”, whose completion was announced yesterday, said a statement from the EU delegation.
The commissioner will report in the meeting about cooperation with Ecuador, particularly on private sector participation in programs or projects.
Another activity will be an event with public sector representatives to discuss the results of the financial support provided by the EU in education and social economic development.
