Ecuadorian Government will not Justify Campaign Expenses
Posted On 16 Aug 2011
President Rafael Correa will not answer to the National Electoral Council (CNE) for the expenses he made during his campaign in his last popular consult. The Ministry coordinator of Politics, Doris Soliz, admitted that such justification of those expenses is not going to be presented in the Council.
“We received the support of Alianza País for the creation of advertising spots, but since there was no record of the economic management, the president does not have to answer for the expenses of the campaign, since there were no private supports.”
According to the study made by the corporation Participacion Ciudadana (Citizen Participation), the presidency spent in advertising $1,011,333 million in March. (AV)
