Ecuadorian Soccer Referees on Strike
Posted On 17 Feb 2012
This morning, the Referees Association in Ecuador began an indefinite strike to demand a change in the assessment system and appointment of judges.
Previously, the assessment system and designation system was handled by the Arbitration Commission of the FEF ( Ecuadorian Soccer Federation for its Spanish acronym). However, this time it is made by a new Commission, which is not integrated by former referees.
This position puts at risk the achievement of the National Soccer hampionship since the arbitrators have said they will not participate in any meeting.
