Ecuadorian woman survived after being stabbed by her ex-husband in the US
Ecuadornews:
At least 20 stabbings were received by an Ecuadorian woman on a street in Queens, USA, early on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
The 31-year-old survived the attack and recovered at Elmhurst Hospital in New York. The suspect in the attack was his ex-husband and the father of her two sons, also of Ecuadorian nationality, according to the website Telemundo 47.
Witnesses told the media that the man rushed to the victim and stabbed her when she got out of a taxi. The incident occurred between Foley Street and Lamont Avenue, in the predominantly Latino neighborhood of Elmhurst.
The police search the suspect for the assault and offer a reward of USD 2,500 for information. “The man had her here with the knife in her neck,” said one witness. “The man ran away,” he added.
The woman, identified as Cecilia M., survived the attack despite suffering lung injuries. The attack “was so savage” that the alleged victimizer even cut his throat, police said. The surveillance cameras in the area caught the attack on the woman.
A uniformed woman said that the videos show how the suspect waited for the victim to get out of a taxi to attack her in front of her house. The authorities confirmed that the couple had a history of domestic abuse. (I)
