Ecuadorian youths use drugs since age 13
Posted On 15 Mar 2013
The campaign to prevent the use of illicit substances by school and college students of Ecuador, began yesterday with its motto “I live my dreams without drugs.”
According to the Drug Enforcement Director, Juan Carlos Barragan, the age at which many children Ecuadorians use drugs is between 13 and 14 years.
Barragan did know that to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use, the Ministries of Health, Education, the Interior, the Police and the Consep push forward a prevention campaign.
This year the police will focus on the implementation of government policies to fight against micro-drug-traffic. Barragan said that such activity destroys communities and those involved in these cases.
