El-Keib Seeks to Reunite Libya
Posted On 01 Nov 2011
The Libyan new Prime Minister, Abdurrahim El-Keib, began to assemble his cabinet this Tuesday with the hopes of uniting the different groups that overthrown the former dictator Muammar Gadhafi.
Some of the relations that El-Keib has in the capital could help him to balance Benghazi, the site of the country’s insurrection. The regional rivalries are part of a series of divisions among the six million of Libyans that acted during its civil war.
According to the scheduled written by the National Transition Council (NTC) El-Keib will have to contain the armed militias that appeared in every town to overthrow Gadhafi. The members of the council described him as “friendly and calm.” (AV)
