El Universo Director Arrived to Panama

Roberto Henriquez comments on Twitter

Carlos Perez, the Ecuadorian director newspaper El Universo arrived to Panama and is currently in the Foreign Offices of the Central American country. Roberto Henriquez, the Chancellor of Panama, stated through his Twitter account that he met with Carlos Perez and his brothers Cesar and Nicolas.

According to Henriquez statements, Carlos Perez is only visiting since the political asylum he had was given while he remained in the embassy of Panama in Quito. Henriquez pointed out that El Universo director would meet with the Panamanian president, Ricardo Martinelli, during the afternoon.

Perez arrived to Panama despite the fact that the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa pardoned the sentence against him and El Universo. However Perez fears for his physical integrity. (AV)
