Electoral Promotion on the Web has no regulations

Political candidates use social networks such as Facebook and Twitter to promote themselves.
The Internet and the use of social networks have become a powerful tool for the political promotion of candidates participating in the elections of February 2013.
The main feature of the tool is its wide distribution, and due it is free, it has no regulation or prohibition by the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) during the campaign period and election ban.
Market Experts say social networks can “promote a candidate’s political image.”
Wendy Carrion, marketer, explained that the new platforms are effective for two reasons: its low cost and the level of impact of the message, “the political candidate becomes a product and the lack of control turns the network into a powerful election tool “she added. (MZ)
