Electric Rates Increasing was Suspended by Judge

This Monday, Judge Mariela Zunino, accepted the action of protection against the decision made by the National Council of Electrification (Consejo Nacional de Electrificación) (Conelec), to increase the electric rates prices.

The action was brought to the judge by the assemblymen of PRE party, Abdala Bucaram Pulley. With this new insight the judge suspended the process that would have allowed Conelec to charge the real value of electricity in the electric bill of users that surpass a consumption 500 kilowatts.

According to Bucaram the measure to increase the energy bills, according to the plan of Conelec, the new prices were supposed to start from July 1. (AV)
