Emelec and Catolica, the winners of the ninth date

Confirming that they have greater choice of being first and aspire to become champions, the Blues and the Crusaders won their respective matches and added 21 points to lead the Ecuadorian soccer tournament, after the ninth date.

Emelec, with goals from Angel Mena and Enner Valencia defeated Deportivo Cuenca 2 to 0 and share the leadership with Universidad Católica, who on Friday won 1-0  to Macara as visitors. Both have the same score and goal differential (21 plus 10).

Emelec keeps intact their chances of succeeding this year because they won the first stage and if repeated in the second they will be direct champion.

Universidad Catolica should be first and two has to defining games with the Blues, but both would be classified to the Libertadores and South American cups.

In other games, yesterday, Barcelona  fell as visitor  to Liga de Loja  3-1, with an auto goal of Perlaza in  Banguera’s goal. In the other match on Sunday, Independiente and El Nacional tied goalless.

Last Friday, Manta tied in his court with Deportivo Quevedo to a goal and Saturday Deportivo Quito and  Liga de Quito tied to zero goals, marker that harmed both teams, which move away from the pointers.
